Being properly hydrated before your session allows your muscles to be more pliable, which helps your muscles receive massage better. In order to fully appreciate the benefits from massage, it is important that you remain hydrated after receiving massage - this is especially true when receiving deeper massage. Massage will move things around in your system, and staying hydrated helps you to continue flushing your system once things get moving.

Knots can be trigger points, bound up muscles, or bound up connective tissue. Your muscles can end up hard, tender, and/or bound up more in some areas than others. We all have physical habits as we work, socialize, relax, and sleep. Knots can be caused by overuse of muscles, underuse of muscles, held tension, and improper body mechanics and posture.
